Hierarchy

Before I was a 3D guy I was a pixel artist for commercial 2D games, from the late 80s to the late 90s. Now I'd like to return to my roots (without leaving 3D of course).

Here's an illustration I made to get into pixeling again. I tried to keep it as minimalistic as possible, in search of the ultimate essence in conveying a visual message.

Girls galore

Hey. It's been awhiles since my last post. I have a baby son (seven weeks now) and it's taking up a lot of my time. I'm only now slowly getting back to work. Here's two illo's I did for a clockface (Lou Lou posted one here some time ago also). The first one they didn't like, so I will use that one for something else. The second one they did like, so that's the one that'll see print.

music for divorced men

Dutch fans of Americana music. I wouldn't want to embarrass any Clogwork guys, so I'll keep my opinions on my own blog this time. And before you ask, it is Johnny Cash's dog.

Seamour Sheep Radioactive Edition

Prepare yourself for a shameless plug ... :)

Following the success of the Seamour Sheep Illuminative Edition, Crazy Label and Sevensheaven are proud to announce the soon to be available Seamour Sheep Radioactive Edition! In the very near future you've got a new chance to get yourself a Seamour Sheep comic figure in the shape of a limited edition USB-powered lamp, this time featuring atmospheric green LED lighting, a cool radioactivity warning sign on his side and last but not least: motion sensor controlled power switching...!

The Seamour Sheep Radioactive Edition will feature a cool motion sensor that detects when you turn Seamour on his side, turning Seamour's light off. To turn on the light, simply put Seamour back on his feet again. No more plugging and unplugging of power cables, and no ugly visible power switch!

Keep an eye on the Sheep Shop for more info as soon as the product is available!

two menopausal drawings

I already put them on my own blog, but here you can see them a little larger if you click on them. Our own dear Evert commented:
It's really great. (Thank you Evert) Reminds me of mon épouse Dominique waking up in the middle of the night.
However, your lady has a very short left leg. The foot of her her right leg, with bended knee, should be much closer to the body. Or rather: her left foot should be further away from her.
I replied:
I know! I thought nobody would notice, because they're hidden underneath the sheet. I know how it happened too. I made a reference photo, my daughter under a sheet. And then I made that knee a lot higher because it looked nice with the elbow. Two angles, enfin. I noticed the difference in leg length, but I thought whatever.

life drawing

Do all you Clog Workers do this for exercise? I go to a weekly life drawing class at my husband's office, it's lots of fun. Very computer geeky people, often with backgrounds in animation, or artists whose careers took a digital turn. Here's what I life drew so far.

No Anchovies Andy

Hi everybody, I am LouLou and just joined the Clogwork gang. Since 2004 I work as a freelance illustrator and recently I teamed up with Tummie and started the 'LouLou & Tummie' empire.

Together we illustrate for all things possible, create papercraft characters, plush dolls and handbags (that last part is mainly Tummies speciality)

For those who would like to see more of my work, please visit:
my (old) website: www.echslectir.com
our (soon to be finished) website: www.loulouandtummie.com
my flickr page: www.flickr.com/echslectir

So.. I'll try to post some fun stuff here every now and then.
Enjoy!

---
The papercraft character shown above is my submission for the 'Urban Paper' book by Matt Hawkins wich will be published in 2009.
I do a lot of papercrafting, commisioned and non commisioned. You can find some of my free downloadable papercraft creations here: Lou's Shop

Dreamy sunrise

Stylized 2D/3D illustration of a sunrise behind hills as a background for the children's spread of Wildlife magazine.

I've just opened a Flickr group called 'Illustratie' for Dutch and Flemish illustrators. Please feel free to join the group, even if you aren't from the Netherlands or Belgium. We do not discriminate: if you've got an illustration that is too good to refuse, be our guest to post it. But beware, we are picky, so please only post work you're really proud of, thanks in advance. I hope to see you at the 'Illustratie' group.
