Louis Paul Boon

And the next one, now you are up to date. Remind me to do this again on Saturday, when my next piece will be in the NRC. More about Louis Paul Boon here.

Vonne van der Meer

I am so sorry, I have been neglecting Clogwork a little. I tell myself I am too busy, but that is nonsense, it only takes a couple of minutes to upload something. More about Vonne van der Meer here.

Dutch inventions

It's a joy making a coverillustration, knowing it will be everywhere for a day. And will be forgotten tomorrow.
This one's about new Dutch Inventions. Check out my Windmillboat! The more front wind, the harder you will go.

Happy New Year!

Not really the time of year, but... Happy new year! I made these cards two weeks ago. If your interested: have a look at my work in progress page at flickr: LINK

Dream

My father once dreamt of a large colored dove that came to free him from a prison, and I decided to visualize that for my Série Noir.

Cartoons

The text for the second one: -sigh- He's so mysterious, so unGoogleable (I don't know if this is translated correctly)

Two cartoons I recently made for the newspaper. I always make them up while doing something else. When I sit down and try to think one up, it's almost always a failure. Maybe you think that these ones suck too. Maybe I'll think that one day, but for now I like 'm!

Savannah

Background for the children's pages of a nature magazine.

Rhythm&Blues-Poster

A poster I made for a 2-day Rhythm&Blues-festival in Rotterdam. (With digital assistance of the very real Fake Booij).
It is a gas to illustrate a favorite kind of music , for the second year already. I hope all of you will attend so next year again there will be a festival , and a poster, if they let me. As Chuck 'Duckwalk' Berry once said: 'Roll over Beethoven, dig these Rhythm'n'Blues!'

(Originally I wanted 'Ain't' to precede the title and because to Dutch ears 'ain't' sounds like 'duck' I considered it funny to depict one. Fortunately the promoter disagreed.)

Nashville Pussy

A drawing I was commissioned to do by a lawyer with a thriving libido, a kick-ass musical taste and a fat wallet. (Those that fear depictions of the gate to life are advised to just enjoy the warm colours of this work).

After how many men are you a slut?

Seamour Sheep comic 32

Seamour's cousin, a black sheep from the USA, tells about his favourite boxer. More sheepish gags can be found at Seamoursheep dot com

amateur psychologist

The article says that a quarter of the working population in Holland has a personal coach. And 40% of the managers. And I take it everybody is behaving accordingly. The invasion of the body snatchers. Oh, the days where we divided the world in socio's and arti's. We have lost the battle. (See the ilustration in the layout)

Jellepelle!

This is an old sketch of mine, with colouring and shading by Jelle Gijsberts. Jelle and I worked on several projects together, and he was kind enough to teach me a trick or two in Photoshop. Check out more of Jelle's great design/illustration work at http://www.jellepelle.blogspot.com

Mobistar Livebox

A still from a webanimation we made for Mobistar.

Wet Birthday

Before the mp3 music format ruled supreme, I burned regular music CDs with stickers and sleeves and all to play my favorite internet finds.
For this one I took an image from a "Zoep" comic page I did for Malmberg.

Cover kids songbook

Büch Reject

A cover I did for a 'Liber Amicorum' ( a friend's book) dedicated to the deceased Dutch writer Boudewijn Büch, it's title not yet 'tweaked'.
While looking for a missing piece of paper in the Himalayas of paper that surround me, I came across this discarded reject...
The publisher preferred a photo on the cover after all.

Fiep!

This silly doodle is my little hommage to the great Fiep Westerdorp. For the non-cloggies: not only is she the greatest artist in Dutch illustration history, she also has the coolest name ever.
Pronounce: feep!

The boring relationship...

JJ Voskuil

His eyebrows are a tad too dark to my linking. The sketches were better. But I could hardly see the monitor in front of me while I was doing the colouring. I was suffering from a terrible cold, it's not much better even now.

Woofie

Say hi to Woofie, my latest 2D vector exercise.

Draakie

Two-dee dragon, enjoying a stylized sun. Creating stuff in a loose, playful style like this is true relaxation and reminds me of drawing unpretentiously in those good ol' childhood days.

Prof Oja-Aha

The comic 'prof Oja-Aha' I draw for childrens magazine Taptoe. Every story covers something scientific. This one is about animal sleeping habbits. No, I'm not gone translate it. Yes, yes, for an interested international publisher I will!

Zombie Rebs

I did a doodle in my sketchbook featuring these three confederate zombie musicians. A friend of mine happened to come across this sketch while he was leafing through my sketchbook. He immediately fell in love with the drawing, saying: "if you're ever going to work out this sketch as a proper drawing, I'll buy it off you!" And guess what; so I did.

goodbye Rita

Rita Verdonk in the Beeeldende Kunstjournaal. (What a fantastic English sentence.) I met her once, she wore this exact same skirt.

Hommage cartoon

A Agent 327 hommage ( Martin Lodewijk ) for MYX stripmagazine.

The real Marty Mole

The real Marty Mole is almost ready to show himself to the world. Seamour Sheep and Marty Mole will be released as designer toys a.k.a. urban vinyl this year, produced in Hong Kong. If you're interested then keep an eye on Seamoursheep.com for updates.

Seamour Sheep comic 30

The thirtieth episode of my precious fluffy friend Seamour Sheep, his wiseacre sidekick Marty Mole and some guest stars.

Unseen Elvis

Recently I was asked to submit this drawing, made in 1993 for 'Oor', a rock-magazine, to a reprint of 'Elvis in Nederland', a book about the King and the Netherlands.
(Ironically, although his manager hailed from Holland, the Pelvis never visited the Lowlands because the Colonel was afraid to get busted for things he'd done in his Dutch days.)

the good-humoured condom

Ik zie zo vaak verliefde paartjes
even stilstaan voor mijn huis:
Daar woont Weemoedt zegt de jongen.
En het meisje slaat een kruis.

To see Lévi Weemoedt on the page, visit my blog.

Xmas card

I'm currently working on christmascards for children, wich I'll post soon... This is a christmascard I did last year.

Silhouette

An exercise in 2D vector illustration. I actually created this with the 2D vector shape tools in my 3D program. :) I installed a trial version of Illustrator, only to find out that I can work much faster with the 2D shape tools of my 3D package.
